In 2024, he was elected as the Chair of the Standing Committee on Health of the National Assembly. Previously, he served as a Member of National Assembly of Armenia from 2021 to 2025, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister in 2021 and Minister of Health of Armenia from 2018 to 2021.

Mr. Torosyan served in the Armed Forces of Armenia as a lieutenant of medical service.

Before holding political posts he worked in private, public, non-governmental and international organizations in the sphere of healthcare. By education, Mr. Torosyan is a medical doctor and he has narrow specialization in health management and organization.
